In the wake of their 2007 international tour, Daft Punk releases "Alive 2007", a live recording of their performance in Paris. I can honestly say that, despite rarely finding time these days to listen to techo-style music, listening to this album was a thrilling experience. From what I've read, actually being at one of their concerts was downright incredible. In any case, for those of us who probably wouldn't know what to do with ourselves at a Daft Punk performance, we do have this sensational release. Close your eyes and get ready for the quintessential house/electronica mind journey. This performance shows how forward thinking they have been in their music and despite the monotony of some original releases, they have layered and fused tracks into a truly moving and soulful thumping, riffing, mooging, feedback-squwarking frenzy. This is an amazing energizing reproduction of the best of Daft Punk, quite simply at their very best. Thomas and Guy Manuel, have always wanted to make good music for people to like and dance to. Now they have trumped themselves with a fantastic world concert tour.
